Arsenal will reportedly sanction a £14m move for Lucas Perez to Deportivo La Coruna before the close of the transfer window.
The Spaniard is desperate to seal a move away from the Emirates after making just 11 appearances in the top-flight last term.
Deportivo have already had two bids of £9m and £11m turned down for the 28-year-old with the Gunners looking to recoup the entire £17m paid for his services 12 months ago.
However, with Arsene Wenger eager to trim his first-team squad, the Gunners’ hierarchy are prepared to come to a compromise over a transfer fee with a £14m sum sufficient to do business with Deportivo, London Evening Standard reports.
Perez had a largely disappointing campaign with the Gunners last term as he managed just two starts in the Premier League.
Although he scored seven goals in 21 games across all competitions, the forward is eyeing a return home to push for a Spain call-up.
Premier League pair Newcastle United and Swansea City have also approached for the Spaniard’s signature, but both are inclining towards a temporary deal which the Gunners would not favour.
Ronald Koeman’s Everton are the other side who are plotting a late approach for Perez, but he is keen to push through a move to Deportivo, where he notched 17 goals in the 2015/16 La Liga season.
Wenger has already let Gabriel make his switch to Valencia in a £10m deal earlier this month, and there could be further transfer activity in the coming days with Kieran Gibbs and Shkodran Mustafi also linked with proposed exits from the north London giants.
