Arsenal have a chance to make it three wins in a row as they will be hosting Wimbledon on Wednesday, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners made it three wins in a row after getting past Burnley by 1-0 at the weekend. Mikel Arteta will be happy that his team has managed to turn their season back on track. With NLD coming up at the end of this week, we can expect to see quite a bit of rotation for this game.
The north Londoners have to do without the services of Granit Xhaka who is suspended. Mohamed Elneny is recovering and the midfielder will be assessed ahead of the game. Kieran Tierney, Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe had to be taken off at the weekend as a precautionary measure but all three are expected to be available.
Arteta will have the players set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation once again and Bernd Leno is expected to be back between the posts. The entire defence that played on Saturday is likely to be given a rest.
Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Kieran Tierney, and Gabriel will be saved for the Tottenham game. In their place, Nuno Tavares and Cedric should start as the full-backs with Rob Holding and Pablo Mari as the centre-backs.
In midfield, changes are sure to come from the manager and he is likely to go with the young pair of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ainsley Maitland Niles. Both have already started a Premier League game together so; it will help the team set the tempo.
A different group of attackers are likely to be tried for this game as it gives fringe players of the squad a chance to play. This should see Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Emile Smith Rowe drop to the bench.
Gabriel Martinelli will be on the left wing with Martin Odegaard playing centrally. On the right-wing, it is a tossup between Folarin Balogun and Eddie Nketiah with the former more likely to get a chance.
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another who is going to be rested and experienced striker Alexandre Lacazette will come in for him. The Frenchman will guide the attack and all signs point to Arsenal notching up yet another win.
