It has been a long time since Arsenal have been in action but they will be at the Molineux on Thursday to take on Wolves, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners are still in the fight for fourth place as many teams are within striking distance. But with no other competition to worry about this season, the manager would want his team to focus on racking up as many points as possible.
Aaron Ramsdale will continue in goal as the youngster has made it his own. As for the full-backs, there might be a change happening with uncertainty over Takehiro Tomiyasu. Kieran Tierney will start as the left-back and there is a good chance that Ben White starts on the right.
Should that be the case, Rob Holding and Gabriel would start as the centre backs. Both will have to be careful against the hosts as their attack is capable of producing chances. If that is taken care of, the north Londoners can think of returning with the three points.
In midfield, the situation is clear for Arteta as both Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have returned from suspension. These two would be the ones to start and their experience plus ability on the ball is going to be crucial to how the visitors play.
As for the attack, Arteta is likely to field the usual trio of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli. There is some debate as to whether the manager should go with the Brazilian or Emile Smith Rowe, but the former is likely to be selected.
With the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette has become the default leader of the team in attack. The Frenchman will be leading the line on Thursday and if he can be a little brave with his shot selection, that should help the north Londoners.
Getting the better of Wolves is not going to be easy for Arsenal but if they can get a win, it will be a huge boost for this season. The Gunners certainly have the players to get the three points and Arteta would be keen on seeing that happening.
