Arsenal head into Sunday’s north London derby with a little more ease as they will maintain their five point lead at the top irrespective of the result, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners kicked off their FA Cup campaign a few days ago and got past Oxford United. A lot of the first team players were rested for that match so we can see a more familiar side play at the Tottenham Stadium.
Aaron Ramsdale will be in goal and his knowledge of countryman Harry Kane could prove to be crucial in his hunt for another clean sheet. As for the full backs, it is going to be the usual combination of Ben White on the right and Alex Zinchenko on the left.
William Saliba will be back in the team and take up his usual spot alongside Gabriel in the centre of defence. These two will have to be careful of their high line being exploited by Kane who is excellent at finding passes behind the defence.
Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka who are in excellent form have the duty of setting the tempo so that the attackers can benefit. The latter with his movement can prove to be a real threat for the visitors. Having already scored in the reverse fixture, the Swiss international will be filled with confidence.
Up front, the three that will play behind the striker are not going to see any changes made. Bukayo Saka will start on the right flank with Gabriel Martinelli starting on the left. Martin Odegaard who was just crowned Premier League player of the month would like to keep his form at the same level.
Another player who managed to impressed in the last few games has been striker Eddie Nketiah. Filling in for Gabriel Jesus is not easy but the Englishman has done a remarkable job so far. There is a chance that his movement and sharpness will be enough to unsettle the home defence.
Arsenal know that they will retain their five point lead even if they were to lose. But they should focus on winning at a place where they haven’t had much luck. Getting the better of their bitter rivals would send a message to the rest of the chasing pack.
