Arsenal will be back at the Emirates on Saturday to host Sheffield United after a successful outing in the Champions League, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners got back to winning ways in Europe as they got the better of Sevilla in what could prove to be a crucial win. Those three points will give the team a lot of confidence ahead of the Blades visiting.
David Raya is likely to continue in goal despite looking a little shakier in the recent past. It is clear that Mikel Arteta has faith in the Spaniard. As for the full backs, it will be the usual combination of Ben White and Alex Zinchenko.
As for the centre backs, there will not be any changes as William Saliba and Gabriel start. These two need to ensure that the few times Sheffield get the ball in north Londoners’ half, they will have to be carefully dealt with.
For the midfield, we are likely to see the same trio that started in Seville. With Thomas Partey out with an injury, Jorginho will continue at the base of the midfield. This gives Declan Rice the opportunity to play further forward, and that can cause the visitors real problems.
Captain Martin Odegaard will be looking to be more influential as he has looked a bit off the boil in the last few games. The Norwegian has the talent to put his stamp on any game and Arteta will be hoping that he gets to see this side of his talisman soon.
Further forward, the Gunners suffered a big blow with an injury to Gabriel Jesus and that would see Eddie Nketiah start as the central forward. While the Englishman is quite talented, he does not do as much as his Brazilian counterpart. This will limit the hosts in how they play but his finishing if given chances can prove to be deadly.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will be on the wings and looking to take on the goalscoring burden. These wingers have the skill and speed to trouble any defence and Arteta will be hoping to see this happen. If these two can get on the ball a lot, the three points are likely to stay at the Emirates.
