Arsenal get ready to welcome PSV at the Emirates as they look to seal qualification for the next round of the Europa League, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners had a hard-fought win over Leeds United at the weekend and with other results going their way, they are four points clear at the top of the Premier League. That confidence will surely come in handy when they are facing the Dutch giants.
Matt Turner is likely to return and will want to get another clean sheet to his collection. There will be changes made to the full backs as well with Kieran Tierney coming on to the left flank and Takehiro Tomiyasu lining up on the right.
Rob Holding can be expected to make an appearance in the starting XI with William Saliba being rested. The Englishman will be paired with Brazilian Gabriel and the duo will have quite a task on their hands keeping the visitors at bay.
Given the magnitude of the match, we can expect to see Granit Xhaka take to the Emirates along with Sambi Lokonga. The Belgian gets another chance to show the manager what he is capable of. Having the experienced Swiss along with him should help the youngster.
Further ahead, we can expect to see Marquinhos play on the right wing which will allow Bukayo Saka to have some rest. Fabio Vieira starts in the central role and will look to be the link between attack and defence. As for the left wing, we can expect to see Gabriel Martinelli start and Arteta can always bring on Reiss Nelson from the bench.
Up front, Gabriel Jesus is another player that is going to be rested. In his place, Eddie Nketiah will lead the attack of the north Londoners. The Englishman has had a decent season so far and will be keen on adding more goals to his name.
Arsenal can take a huge step towards reaching the Round of 16 in the Europa League with a win on Thursday. Getting the better of PSV is not easy but this group of players are capable of collecting the three points.
