Arsenal will be on the road once again on Monday as they travel to Goodison Park where they will be facing Everton, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
After a disappointing defeat to Manchester United, how will Mikel Arteta respond with his team selection? Losing to United has put a dent to the Gunners’ hopes of finishing in the top four as they have let the Red Devils and Tottenham gain ground on them.
With West Ham United beating Chelsea yesterday, it adds more pressure on the players and the manager. Despite conceding three goals at Old Trafford, the defence did a commendable job.
One change we could expect is to see Kieran Tierney back as the left-back in place of Nuno Tavares. Takehiro Tomiyasu should take his place on the right with Aaron Ramsdale in goal.
Ben White and Gabriel are getting better with each passing game and will be called upon to be the central defensive duo. The two need to be more involved in the attack to give the visitors a better chance of getting the three points.
Thomas Partey was quite disappointing in the defeat to United and it could see him getting dropped. Mohamed Elneny on the other hand did really well and should be rewarded with another start. Albert Sambi Lokonga should be the one to replace Partey.
Bukayo Saka is another change that we can expect to see given that the Englishman started on the bench on Thursday. His pace and skill will be needed to get the better of the Toffees. Martin Odegaard, boosted by his goal midweek should start as the attacking midfielder.
The Norwegian needs to be more assertive in these kinds of games as his passing could be the key. Emile Smith Rowe is in tremendous form but may be given a breather and Gabriel Martinelli could be on the left wing.
Another disappointment for Arsenal at United was the performance of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The skipper hasn’t looked like his old self and could be replaced by Alexandre Lacazette. Arteta will be hoping that his team is able to benefit from the poor form of the hosts and grab the win. Doing that is crucial for the club’s hopes of reaching the Champions League.
