Arsenal Predicted Lineup

Arsenal play their local rivals Chelsea at the Emirates this Sunday ahead of the upcoming International break, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.

The Gunners had a 2-2 draw against PSV during the week and that was a mere formality after their first leg heroics. Now, they have a quarterfinal to look forward against defending champions Real Madrid.

David Raya will be in action against an attack that will create a lot of chances. If he can be at his best, it increases the chances of the hosts winning. Ben White will be back on the bench with Jurrien Timber coming in his place and the Dutchman will be partnered by Myles Lewis-Skelly.

William Saliba who was rested against PSV will surely be back in the starting XI. He will be with his usual partner Gabriel. These two need to ensure that the mobile Chelsea attack does not get too many chances to shoot.

Thomas Partey was another player who was given a rest on Wednesday and the Ghana international will be back at the base of the midfield. He will be paired with Declan Rice who will be given the licence to press high up the pitch.

The midfield will be completed by the captain Martin Odegaard who is slowly getting back to his best. If the skipper can get on the ball in more advanced areas, it will surely help the hosts create more chances to score from.

Ethan Nwaneri who was ably filled in for Bukayo Saka will start on the right wing and on the other flank, it is likely that Gabriel Martinelli is given the chance. The Brazil international would be preferred to Leandro Trossard as the explosiveness he brings will add another dimension to the attack. And fas for the striker, it comes down to Mikel Merino who by default gets the role.

Arsenal have had a tough season domestically, but they are making great strides in Europe. It is important for Arteta and his men to finish the season on a strong note. By getting maximum they can show the others that they are not going anywhere.
