Arsenal would look to get their Premier League campaign back on track as they get ready to host Brentford on Saturday, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners suffered a blip in their title charge as they ended up losing to Everton. That defeat ultimately proved to be no problem as Manchester City could not gain any ground on them. That will give the hosts some confidence as they head into this weekend’s game.
Aaron Ramsdale didn’t do anything wrong against the Toffees and would want to continue that against the visitors. As for the full backs, Mikel Arteta might change a thing or two. Ben White has looked a bit off the pace and could see his place taken by Takehiro Tomiyasu with Alex Zinchenko on the left.
Both Gabriel and William Saliba will have to deal with the threat of Ivan Toney who has the power and movement to trouble the defence. The north Londoners need to be aware of the aerial threat that the Bees possess.
It is highly unlikely that Jorginho would get to start unless there is a problem with the availability of Thomas Partey. So, we should see the Ghana international line up with his usual partner, Granit Xhaka.
Another change could be seen in the form of Leandro Trossard who could come in to give Gabriel Martinelli a breather. Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard would take up their usual places to complete the attacking trio. These three have to be better than they were last week or else, it gives Brentford a chance.
Eddie Nketiah will continue his place as the leader of the attack. The Englishman has the knack of getting into good positions and if his teammates can find him, that changes everything. If the striker can get on the score sheet it improves the hosts’ chances of winning.
Arsenal do not have to panic but a failure to win two games in a row will send some alarm bells ringing. So, they need to be on the front foot from the get-go and put the visitors under pressure. That is the only way to get something out of this game.
