Arsenal and Real Madrid are reportedly close to an agreement regarding the loan transfer of Dani Ceballos, according to reports in Talk Sport.
Both the clubs play each other on the 23rd of this month and the report in Talk Sports claims that a deal could be completed before that game with the midfielder going to London on a temporary deal.
Ceballos has been at the Bernabeu since the summer of 2017 after joining Real Madrid from Real Betis in a deal worth £15m.
But unfortunately, he has not been able to hold down a regular place in the Real midfield and is hence looking at a move elsewhere as he can get more playing time.
The North London club are looking at Ceballos as the man who could be in line to replace Aaron Ramsey who left for Juventus on a free transfer. The Spaniard has what it takes to replace the outgoing Welshman as he can combine attacking and defensive aspects of his game very well.
The 22-year-old midfielder is a good passer and an incredibly tricky dribbler who can always evade any pressing that the opposition thinks of doing. This is essential in the system that manager Unai Emery likes to play.
A combination like this is something that the fans will really like to have and if and when he does end up at the Emirates, he is sure to impress the fans will his playing style. Getting him on loan would also mean that it will not have an impact on the transfer budget that the Gunners have for this summer.
It allows them to look at other players that they can sign and they can reinforce the squad even more. Arsenal need to get back to the elite level of European football and the way to get there is through the Champions League. For that to happen, the squad needs to be as strong as possible.
A player like Ceballos will definitely help in that regard and it seems that the club has also understood this. Those who do not know much about him will get a glimpse of his talents when Arsenal face off against Real and they will see first hand what he can bring to the Emirates.
