Former Liverpool player Stan Collymore is of the opinion that Arsenal as a team are not good enough to win the Premier League and questioned the star players of the team particularly Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
According to Sunday Mirror, Stan took a jibe at Arsenal saying they are not good enough to win the league with their set of players and said United are more capable of winning the Premier League than the North London club.
Here is Stan’s tweet stating what he thinks of Arsenal
I’ll put it simpler.
If both are so good, why didn’t they drive #AFC to the title? TWO world class performers , no? https://t.co/IccpolmoeI

He also wrote in the Sunday Mirror where he said,
“I still believe that Wenger’s team could be right in the top-four mix, I only think that will happen if they sign a boss central defender and/or a boss central striker, otherwise they could just as easily miss out,”
“It is as clear as day to the rest of us what Wenger’s squad needs, yet for some reason he is so stubborn with the Emirates chequebook. Sol Campbell, you could argue. He offered great defensive stability.
“But I still don’t feel Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez or Granit Xhaka are of the highest level. They’re very good players. Xhaka is the right type of signing, mobile and aggressive.
“But his arrival didn’t light up the eyes of Arsenal fans in the same way that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s did with Manchester United’s, or Paul Pogba’s will do, if his deal gets done.
“Wenger and his Arsenal paymasters don’t seem to possess that ruthless streak. We know he has money to spend, but he is unwilling to take risks.
“But sometimes you have to gamble and pay whatever it takes to get a Gonzalo Higuain or similar striker.
“That’s why Wenger needs those one or two “wow” signings and fast – otherwise Guardiola, Mourinho and Conte could taint his legacy for ever.”
Few would argue what Collymore had to say as Arsenal have already missed out on Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain as he is set to be unveiled by Juventus as their new signing.
I couldn’t agree more on what Stan had to say. We need signings and we need those big players as soon as possible.
Arsene has already mentioned that around 7 to 8 teams will compete for the Premier League title as there is no problem of money for the Bpl teams and the coming year will be the most competitive one with managers like Pep and Jose coming in to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Chelsea, Tottenham and even Liverpool could outrun us in the Premier League as they have made some great signings and have brought some of the biggest names for their managerial posts.
Let’s hope we make some signings in the coming days before our first friendly in USA against MLS All-Stars so we could see them playing before the start of the Premier League.
