Arsenal are keen on wrapping up a summer deal for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, a report from The Mirror claims.
The Brazil international has been a regular fixture for the Old Lady this season with manager Max Allegri opting to switch to the 4-4-2 formation midway through the campaign.
The Mirror understands that the north London giants are lining up a €35m bid for the left-sided defender with the backline in need of some strengthening during the summer transfer window.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already admitted that there are flaws at the back this season, and it appears that he will go on a major spending spree, should he remain in charge beyond the summer.
Nacho Monreal has established himself as the first-choice left back at the Emirates in recent seasons, but his odd mistake in key games appear to have urged the club to move in for a suitable competitor.
England international Kieran Gibbs is currently playing second fiddle to Monreal for the role, but his time could be up in the summer with the club yet to offer him an extension as he nears the final year of his contract.
Alex Sandro, who can also feature as a left-sided midfielder, was recruited from Porto for €26m in the summer of 2015, and the Gunners may have to up their offer further in order to prise away the Brazilian from Turin.
The 26-year-old has managed 23 appearances for the Old Lady in the Serie A – providing two goals and three assists in the process. He is also being closely watched by rivals Manchester City and European champions Real Madrid.
