Arsenal are one among the top English clubs interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in the summer, The Guardian reports.
The 24-year-old has had a fascinating season at Selhurst Park this term – from switching his international allegiance from England to the Ivory Coast to being the player to be relied upon for Crystal Palace’s recent rise from the drop zone.
According to The Guardian, the Eagles could face a tough task of holding onto their attacker with interest from the likes of Arsenal among others including Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Zaha has had his best season in the Eagles shirt to date with six goals and seven assists, and this has earned him plaudits from manager Sam Allardyce, who feels the winger can reach the heights of Eden Hazard after his goal and assist earned his side all three points against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The former Manchester United man also appears to have realised his potential on the international stage after having netted twice in his first six caps for Ivory Coast – including a sublime solo effort in the recent 2-0 victory over Russia in a friendly.
Zaha is currently on a £35,000 weekly package in south London, and the Eagles’ hierarchy would be willing to substantially up his wages to the £110,000-a-week range in order to fend off interest from potential suitors in the summer.
As of now, Arsenal seem to be monitoring the in-form attacker, but they may have to ward off interest from arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who remain keen after having failed with a £15m approach for Zaha in the last summer transfer window.
