With the transfer window slamming shut, Arsenal fans up and down the Country are debating if the current crop of additions are sufficient to mount a serious challenge for a top-four finish.
Strangely enough, after all the early activity, the final hours of the transfer window were a damp squib for the Emirates faithful.
Personally, I would have been happy with the addition of a winger and perhaps another creative midfielder or left back, as a result, Arsenal seem a little short.
Much will depend on Unai Emery’s ability to get the best out of his existing squad and the new additions.
One suspects that a lot will depend on the Spaniards ability to use tactical systems tailored for individual teams and how he uses the emerging talent but it’s at the back where doubts remain.
The injury to Kolasinac and Monreal have raised questions over the clubs lack of activity on the final day of the window as Arsenal look to make it back into the top four.
It’s purely speculation at this point of course but Emery’s squad need to show resolve and intent against Manchester City on Sunday.
If they put in a solid performance, the lack of cover will be forgotten, if not it could set the tone for a nervy campaign.
Just how will Emery contain a City side that appeared so dominant last season, and will they be able to close the gap on City’s undeniable superiority.
