Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems determined to win the title next term and if we go by his recent comments the Frenchman is willing to make three big signing this summer.
In the light of that French manager Arsene wenger has launched an offer for Leicester City’s key striker Jamie Vardy and is also interested in couple more players including Vardy’s team-mate at Leicester Mahrez. With that in mind, here is the Latest transfer news.
New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly set his sights on signing Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere as he aims to increase the quota of home-based players at the club as well as bolster the midfield.
The Etihad outfit has only three English player in their current team- Joe Hart, Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph and the Spanish coach has identified Wilshere as the man to fill the void.
According to the Mirror, the England international is topping Guardiola’s wishlist despite him spending much of the last two seasons on the sidelines.
The former Premier League champions have already signed IIkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund but looks like the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach wants more additions in the midfield.
Wilshere who is currently on international duty with England ahead of EURO 2016 still has two years left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium. The arrival of Granit Xhaka has increased the competition in the Gunners’ midfield, which could make it difficult for Wilshere to feature in his preferred position.
He had recently complained about playing out wide instead of his preferred central position. According to Sky Sports, he said:
“With Arsenal I’ve been playing out wide, which is not me,” Wilshere is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard. “I’m not a wide man, but Roy seems to have faith in me in the middle, so I’m happy with that. I like to play anywhere in the middle.”
“I played the holding role before and I really enjoy that, and, this time I was a bit higher up the pitch and I enjoyed that as well. “I’ve worked with Roy now and his staff for a number of years and they know what I bring and I know what they want from me as well.”
Wilshere joined the North London club from Luton town; he joined the Arsenal Academy in October 2001 at the age of nine and just hit the net 12 times in 157 appearance for the Gunners.
Wilshere has spent much of the last two seasons battling injury and I don’t think Guardiola will sign such an injury prone player. Man City have also been credited with links to Arsenal trio of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
