Reports from Daily Star has it that Arsenal have made a £15m bid for Napoli’s highly-rated full-back Elseid Hysaj.
It’s understood that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is on the outlook for a versatile defender as Mathieu Debuchy and Kieran Gibbs are rumoured to be leaving the club this summer, while Calum Chambers could also be sent out on a long term loan.
In recent weeks, Hysaj, 22, has emerged as a potential target and as per the report from Super Sport(via Daily Star) Wenger was very impressed with the defender’s performance after he sent scouts to watch the youngster last season.
The Albanian international left Empoli last summer for Napoli and had a wonderful first season with the Italian club having played in all but one of their Serie A games as they finished runners-up to Juventus.
It seems the Gunners have now formalised their interest in the ace as the report further states that the North London outfit have tested Napoli’s resolve with an opening £15m offer for the 22-year-old ace.
There has not been any indication that Napoli have responded to our bid yet but the Gunners could face competitions as Man Utd, Chelsea, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in him.
The youngster was one of the best full-backs in Italy last season and was also impressive for the Albanian team, who are on course to qualify for the knockout stages of the EURO 2016.
Sports writer Jonas Giaever has been impressed by the way in which the Hysaj has performed on the big stage so far:
Elseid Hysaj has been out of this world for Albania thus far in this game. Has shut down France’s left and keeps threating with runs/crosses

The 22-year-old could replace Debuchy or Chambers as he is known to be best in the right-back role and he could also play alongside with Bellerin, as he’s also capable of playing at left-back. His versatility could be the reason Wenger has taken a keen interest in this youngster.
Hysaj could be a very useful signing if we are able to successfully bring him to the Emirates Stadium, but the Gunners fans will have to wait and see how thing develop in the coming weeks.
I feel Wenger should rather go for someone who has vast experience in the Premier League and the style of football.
