Arsenal are reportedly keen on pursuing the services of Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe following a failed attempt during the previous summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who can feature on either side of the central defence, had been approached by the north London club last year before he decided to join AS Monaco from Lille.
He followed to enjoy a fruitful spell with the Principality outfit after having helped them to the Ligue 1 crown whilst also reaching the semi-final of the Champions League.
Sidibe has previously admitted that he could consider a future move to England, and according to L’Equipe, the Gunners have made contact with Monaco for the player.
Both Hector Bellerin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have impressed in the right wing-back role, but the club are still looking into a possible upgrade in the position.
Sead Kolasinac is due to become an Arsenal player when the transfer window reopens on July 1, and there is a sense that they could be significant changes to the squad following an average league season, which saw the club finished fifth.
Sidibe has earned plenty of admirers during the course of the current season, and it appears that he could leave Stade Louis II sooner rather than later with several other teammates also on the move.
The versatile defender earned his maiden call-up to the France squad earlier last year, and he could yet be influenced by fellow teammates Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud, who both have made their names at the Emirates.
Sidibe appeared in a total of 47 outings for the Ligue 1 holders this term – contributing three goals and seven assists in the process.
