As per a report from Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant, Albert Sambi Lokonga could get a green light to complete Arsenal transfer move today.
The 21-year-old has been impressive for Anderlecht producing many brilliant performances since making his senior debut. This drew the attention of the north London club who decided to make a move for the midfielder.
Many reports earlier in the week claimed that the midfielder has already traveled to London. However, Voetbal Krant are claiming that Lokonga is awaiting clearance to make the trip from Belgium, which might arrive today. He will miss his team’s pre-season camp to put the finishing touches on this transfer.
The report also states that both the clubs are keen on finalising a deal with an announcement expected by the end of the week. This was confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano who provided an update on the negotiations as he tweeted:
“Albert Sambi Lokonga to Arsenal, here we go soon! The agreement is set to be completed with Anderlecht – final details then paperworks time. Personal terms agreed since weeks till 2026. No medical scheduled yet, negotiations at final stages. €17.5m + add ons.”

The Gunners need another central midfielder in their ranks with Granit Xhaka close to joining Roma and Matteo Guendouzi joining Marseille on loan. Adding a talent such as the Belgian is good a choice given the player’s age and potential.
As he has already shown for Anderlecht, the 21-year-old can take the game to the opposition with his dribbling and passing abilities. At the Emirates, this will be needed as there is no one in the squad who could do this apart from Thomas Partey.
Though the fans have had to wait for a little, all of that will be forgotten when they see the midfielder in action. Lokonga should be joining the Arsenal squad as they head off for pre-season in a few days’ time. If all the details are sorted out by then, there is a good chance that we will get to see the youngster in the famous red and white.
