Arsenal are showing interest in pursuing a deal worth £50m for highly rated Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler, and are said to face competition from Liverpool, according to the Express.
Draxler is a player that well known by the Gunner fans as he’s been linked strongly with a move to the Emirates in the past but missed out when Wenger failed to push ahead for a deal .He joined Wolfsburg in a £25.5m deal from Schalke last summer as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
The German international has continued to prove himself to everyone as one of the most exciting youngsters in European football over the past few months and has also performed admirably for Germany at the Euro 2016 this summer.
It looks as if the French manager is ready to renew his interest in the 23-year-old ace as the reports from Express claims Arsenal are showing interest in landing the German international this summer for a deal worth £50m. This is evidently due to the youngsters performances in the Euros this year, where he has arguably been one of Germany’s best players.
I was astonished when I heard that Wenger wants to pay such a large sum of money for the youngster. However, he has huge talent with a great potential.
Even if Wenger is ready to break our club record for the German international the reports from the newspaper claims that we’ll face serious competition from Liverpool, who are willing to bolster the quality of their squad.
The German club sporting director Allofs too has admitted that the 23-year-old ace could depart from the club this summer.
“It is clear that Wolfsburg is not the end of his dreams – neither was Schalke,” Allofs is quoted as saying by the Express
“There are clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona or one or other club from England.
“But Julian knows exactly how the contractual situation is. He has a long-term contract with us. We plan to stick with it!”
We are all quite aware things goes in this today’s absolutely hard-to-decipher transfer window. If the money is right and he is willing to leave, a deal can be definitely be done this summer. There is no indications in the papers yet as to what is it that he wants to do.
Draxler, is undoubtedly one of those players who can play any sort of game. He is capable of quick one twos from the wings, a practice Arsenal endorse in every game. He is fast, intelligent on counters and has a quality first pass. He is also good in the air, something of a rarity now days for strikers and wingers, let alone midfielders!!
His pace, clever movement, brilliant technique and better-quality finishing would make him the perfect foil for Ozil’s vision in the final third.
