Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reported to be lining up a move for Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic, who has a £13m release clause in his contract.
The Serbia international has been a key figure in the Saints’ setup since his arrival from Dutch side Twente three years ago.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb suggests that the Gunners are planning a potential swoop for the 28-year-old this summer after knowing of his relatively low price tag.
Tadic currently has a £13m escape clause attached to his current deal, and this has encouraged interest from Arsenal as well as several Serie A clubs including Napoli and Juventus.
Gunners boss Wenger looks more or less likely to stay for at least another season, and he is understood to have made up his shortlist of targets well ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman is known to favour a bargain in the transfer market, and Tadic is said to fit the bill having previously impressed against the north London giants.
Tadic netted a penalty goal and provided two assists in the recent 3-1 win over Georgia in the World Cup qualifiers, and this will have captured the attention of his suitors.
Nevertheless, the Serbian could be seen as an addition to the Gunners ranks with Mesut Ozil hinting that he is ‘very comfortable‘ at the Emirates despite the ongoing gossip over his future.
The World Cup winner has just 15 months left on his existing deal, but the Gunners are hopeful of finalising an extension when the season comes to a close.
Tadic has netted 18 goals in over 100 outings for the South Coast outfit to date. He is also a regular with the Serbian national side having earned 42 caps since his debut in 2008.
