Arsenal are keeping tabs on highly-rated Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak as per a report from The Athletic.
The 21-year-old had a brilliant season for the Spanish side, scoring 17 goals in the league. A pacey and strong striker, the Swede is known for his finishing and ability to link up with others.
Isak also played a crucial part in Sociedad’s Copa Del Rey campaign, as they got past local rivals Athletic Bilbao to win the Cup. The forward emerged as the top scorer in the competition.
As per The Athletic, the Gunners are keeping an eye on the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. Both have a year left on their contract and should they leave this summer, the club’s priority is to replace them with the Swedish forward.
The report also states that a potential transfer for the striker is complicated by the fact that Borussia Dortmund retain a buy-back clause. The German giants inserted this when they sold him to Sociedad, and it is set at €30 million.
However, Isak himself has admitted to Dortmund being ‘in the past’, but the German giants could buy him back and sell for a profit. The report further states that Edu rates the forward highly and if the north Londoners were to purchase the Swede, they would have to meet the minimum release clause set at €70 million(£60.2m).

Whether the Gunners go for Isak will depend on who leaves the club this summer. But if they do sign him, they would be getting one of the most promising young forwards in Europe.
During his spell in Spain, the forward has shown that he can lead an attack on his own. His combination of pace, power and technique make him the ideal modern striker.
These skills would be welcome at the Emirates stadium where the youngster will get better service. The fee might seem a bit high but is reflective of the player’s potential.
Arsenal could need a new center-forward based on what happens to Alexandre Lacazette. If the player coming in is Isak, the Gunners can be happy with their choice.
