Arsenal are understood to have agreed personal terms with Belgian ace Yannick Ferreira Carrasco and they are currently close to negotiating the transfer price with Dalian Yifang.
According to Sport Mediaset’s Pietro Prota, the north London giants have already reached an agreement with Carrasco in terms of the contract and they are now ‘very close’ to sealing a transfer deal worth £27m.
Prota has a good reputation in dealing with the speculation from AC Milan, in particular and his interest in Carrasco comes as no surprise, given the Rossoneri were previously interested in the attacker.
At £27m, Arsenal are likely to find themselves spending most of the pre-sales budget on the Belgian, but a separate report from Standard Sport has revealed that they could seek to stagger the payments or aim to negotiate part of the fee in the form of performance-based add-ons.
The 25-year-old has been plying his trade in China for the past 14 months and this may present concerns whether he can adapt to the intensity of the Premier League once he makes the return to European football.
Still, it can be said that the attacker should prove a shrewd signing for the Gunners, given they have struggled to find a specialist winger, who can regularly contribute towards the scoresheet.
Carrasco has been in fine form during the ongoing Chinese Super League season and he has bagged seven goals and two assists from just 10 appearances (ESPN) for Dalian, who are lying in the bottom half of the standings.
