A section of the Arsenal supporters have given the go-ahead for the club to secure the signing of Alexis Claude-Maurice from French minnows Lorient this summer.
The 21-year-old has come off a bright season in the French second tier where he contributed 14 goals and four assists, and his progress has seemingly caught the attention of the Gunners.
Unai Emery’s side are already said to have failed with a couple of bids to pursue the highly-rated attacker but a recent report has claimed that they may not be far off from a transfer deal with a third offer imminent for the player, who is valued at £17.8m by Lorient.
Amidst this, a selection of Arsenal supporters have approved the transfer move and believe the youngster has the credentials to make it to the top with the north London giants.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter…
Trust me, I don’t mind us signing Alexis Claude-Maurice. The kid seems like a talent.
But what slightly frusturates me is that we have young talent on the wing such as Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka, and Xavier Amaechi.
They are just as good, if not better.

If Arsenal get Alexis Claude-Maurice for less than 20M, believe me it'll be an absolute steal

I hope this Claude-Maurice deal goes through. Don’t know about the rumored fee, but seems like a player who could adjust to PL fairly quickly and be a first team player. I think he has the tools. Versatle attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. Who knows with these things tho

18 million too much for Claude Maurice apparently, same people who would moan should we miss out on a talent like him.

Arsenal are set to part ways with Danny Welbeck on a free when his contract expires this month and Claude-Maurice could be regarded as a direct replacement for the England international.
The 21-year-old has generally featured on the left side of the attack during his time at Lorient and his goalscoring contribution may be something which has caught the eye of Emery.
The likes of Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan featured on different occasions on the flanks last term, but neither were sufficiently impressive when it came to the end product.
Young winger Reiss Nelson should be one of those, who could earn the chance to impress after his season-long loan in Germany, but Emery may still want additional creativity out wide.
