Lucas Perez’s representative Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle is hopeful that Arsenal will accept from the transfer package from his client’s former club Deportivo La Coruna.
The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from the Spanish minnows for around £17.1m last summer, but he failed to make a solid impact in the first-team due to Arsene Wenger’s reliance on the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud.
Overall, Perez managed just 11 appearances in the top-flight last term with his only goal coming in the 3-3 comeback draw against Bournemouth.
Earlier last month, Perez admitted that the club made an ugly gesture to offer his number nine shirt to Alexandre Lacazette without any intimation, and he has since instructed his client to look into a fresh challenge.
The likes of Newcastle United, Fenerbahce, and former club Deportivo have all been credited with an interest in his services, and Lovelle admits that the latter have indeed made an offer to re-sign him.
Deportivo are said to have offered part of his proceeds last season to ex-club PAOK, and Lovelle insists that the Gunners have been offered a great deal at £10.9m.
“I think the £10.9m (€12m) that Deportivo La Coruna have offered Arsenal is a great deal. Deportivo received £12.7m (€14m) when they sold him to them last summer,” he told Sky Sports News.
“They are giving everything to make this transfer possible. Lucas wants to play but he has a contract with Arsenal. I am hopeful an agreement can be reached.”
Apart from his solitary league goal, Perez found some success in the Cup and Champions League games last term with six goals – including an impressive European hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Basel in the group stage.
