The representative of Lucas Perez has revealed that Arsenal have received an offer from Deportivo La Coruna to re-sign his client. The Spanish winger is desperate for a return to A Coruna as he dreams of representing Spain at next year’s World Cup.
Perez joined the north London giants from Deportivo last summer after they activated the £17.1m release clause ahead of Premier League counterparts Everton.
The 28-year-old managed an overall tally of 21 games across all competitions last term, but only two of them were starts in the Premier League.
Despite being promised regular gametime in the second half of the season, Perez was stranded in the substitutes’ bench with his last appearance coming in the 5-0 win over non-league Lincoln in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Perez recently admitted that he would like to leave the Gunners after the ‘ugly gesture‘ made in offering his number nine shirt to Alexandre Lacazette without his intimation.
Earlier this month, it had been claimed that Deportivo could offer a ten-year deal to Perez with the promise of becoming the club’s technical secretary on his retirement.
And agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has confirmed that there has been an offer from the La Liga club which is worth more than the £7.9m spent by Sevilla to sign Nolito this month.
“Deportivo made an offer a week ago. It is a permanent deal and worth more than Nolito’s move to Sevilla,” he told PA Sport h/t ESPN. “Of course [he was told he would play more]. Lucas signed for Arsenal and was the happiest person in the world and with all of his dreams to fulfil. We have seen that every time he played he did well, but after every time he got fewer and fewer opportunities.”
Lovelle is currently present in London for the Emirates Cup where he is hoping to sort out his client’s future, but Depor may have to increase their bid with the attacker still having three years left on his £70,000-a-week contract.
