It is well known that the Gunners are caught between a rock and a hard place with regards to the contract of Aaron Ramsey.
Apparently, there was an agreement found between the two parties but the club retracted their offer for some reason.
Now, a lot of clubs are being linked with the Welshman and if reports in Express are to be believed, Manchester United may be interested but the midfielder’s representatives were quick to shut it down.
This is what they had to say when asked about any potential interest in Ramsey:
“There can’t be any interest in him [from United] at the moment because of the regulations. Might be different at the end of the season. Who knows?”
From that, we can sense that the other clubs are just biding their time and letting the season play out before coming to a decision.
But, that could change at the end of the season and the interest of these clubs may be made public. Ramsey himself has stated his desire to honor his contract and that should provide the fans with some temporary relief.
A player who is as important as the Welshman should ideally have extended his contract by now so, it is a little baffling that the club have not done this yet.
If by the end of the season, the club and Ramsey are not able to agree on an extension, then there will be a lot of clubs who are willing to snap him up. So, the Gunners need to be careful before making any decision.
Arsenal are on a nine-match winning streak at the moment and Ramsey has played a big part in that happening. This just goes to show the importance of the Welshman to the team. Given that the Gunners want to get back into the Champions League, they will need players such as Ramsey to contribute. And not to mention, losing him on a free will be of no use to the club.
