We’ve been saying it the whole transfer window, Wenger was not allowed to buy unless he balanced the books. With Olivier Giroud joining Chelsea on deadline day, Wenger has played a shrewd transfer window.
I’d go as far to say he’s pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and in doing so has added real talent to replace Sanchez.

Defender Konstantinos Mavropanos cost £1.8 Million, Aubameyang cost us around £56 million. Combining both the incoming transfers cost us around £58m while the sales have given us around £48m.
That means Arsenal virtually spent only £10m this transfer window and added some real quality to the squad. Wenger has managed the resources he had at his disposal to the max and has pulled off really quality signings.
Mkhitaryan came in place of Sanchez and will surely improve the side with his class. With Aubameyang also coming in, the duo will prove to be a deadly combo.
Both of them played together at Dortmund during 2015/16 season and the result was Mkhi notching up 20 assists and 13 goals, while Auba notched up 33 goals along with 5 assists(via Whoscored).
Add Ozil and Wilshere to that equation and things look very bright for the gunners, very bright indeed. It’s still too early to call, as the incoming players will take some time to get accustomed to the club and its style of play but the prospect of seeing them play together is mouthwatering to say the least.
