Arsenal are reportedly edging closer to the signing of midfielder Denis Suarez from Barcelona after holding positive talks with the Spanish champions.
The Spain international has endured a difficult season with the Blaugrana where he has managed under 30 minutes of league action and this has witnessed him linked with a potential move elsewhere.
Amidst this, manager Unai Emery has been regularly fancied to secure a reunion with Suarez – whom he managed at ex-club Sevilla, and The Mirror suggests that the deal could be inching closer despite Barcelona’s transfer stance.
The Blaugrana are said to be adamant that the 25-year-old won’t be allowed to leave the Camp Nou for anything other than a permanent deal but the Gunners still seem optimistic of securing Suarez on loan by including an obligatory buy clause worth £18m.
Emery has recently highlighted that the club are restricted to only loan deals for the transfer window and that has certainly hampered their chances of pursuing big-name signings, who can make a key impact during the backend of the season.
Nonetheless, there appears the intent to secure possible loan deals for players and of late, they have been linked with a temporary move for James Rodriguez, who could be available for a bargain price of £3m.
The Colombian has struggled to settle with Bayern Munich during his two season-long loan from Real Madrid and it is claimed that the Gunners could loan him for the final six months of the season, provided they can pay the fee which the German side are due for the rest of the campaign.
