Arsene Wenger comments on Arsenal’s move for Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of signing Borussia Dortmund star striker this January Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

This comes in light of growing speculations and rumours(as per Sky Sports) of a possible move to the Emirates for the 28-years-old Gabonese superstar should Alexis Sanchez depart this month.

When queried about a possible move for Aubameyang at a press conference this Friday Wenger simply replied: “No, that is not a possibility.”

The Dortmund striker has been regularly linked to a number of top-flight clubs over the past few years. However, with the North London club appointing star scout Sven Mislintat who was previously at Dortmund, there have been rumours of a possible reunion at the Emirates.

Starting his career in Milan’s youth team Aubameyang went on loan spells to top clubs like Monaco and dijon before finally joining Borussia Dortmund on a permanent deal in 2013. From there he went on to become one of their record goal scorers with a tally of more than 150 goals over 4 seasons.

With great pace and lethal finishing, he is no doubt a worthy replacement for an outgoing Sanchez, but Wenger has made it clear that the transfer won’t be happening and that he expects Sanchez to stay at Arsenal.

Halfway through the season Arsenal find themselves in hostile territory. With a string of first team players out with injury, the Gunners are in a real danger of failing to secure a top 4 finish in the premier league for the second year in a row.

With a host of crunch clashes ahead and the injury list increasing by the day the north Londoners are in dire need of reinforcements .arsenal have been linked to a host of star players in the form of Thomas Lemar, Julian Draxler and Lucas Vasquez only to name a few.

Given Arsene Wenger’s track record it is highly unlikely that he will make any big name signings this month, although in the present conditions nothing seems predictable.
