Wenger: Rosicky will stay at Arsenal

I have been waiting to hear this news for the past month or so, but it has finally come true, after Arsene Wenger confirmed that fan favourite Tomas Rosicky will stay with the Gunners for at least one more year.

The Little Mozart has been a regular feature for the North London club with most of those appearances coming off the bench. He has only made 5 starts in the Premier League this season, but his impact from the bench has been heavily impressive this season.

The ever-green midfielder has been at the club for the past nine years and stayed loyal to Arsenal even when they were going through a crisis. He recently silver lined his stay after helping the Gunners end their trophy drought with the FA Cup which was also his trophy with the London side.

Wenger speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of their season finale against West Brom confirmed that the Czech midfielder will complete his tenth season with the Emirates club after Arsenal took up the option for another year on his contract. He said:

Yes. We have taken up the option.

[When questioned on whether Rosicky will play any part in Cech deal] Tomas Rosicky is not involved in the transfer market at all, he will be with us next season and we do not use the players for that.

I have been a keen admirer of Rosicky since he joined Arsenal almost a decade back. He is the sort of personality who even opposition fans will find it difficult to cuss on. He has been absolutely wonderful and not to forget that he stayed with us even during our hardship, which many of the other so called loyal players failed to do(you know who).

The little Mozart has majorly been restricted to the bench in the past season or so, but has never failed to make an impact on the side when called on. His quick feet coupled with a great footballing brain has been magical to watch to say the least.

He might not contribute as much as he did in the initial days, but he is by no means a push over when it comes to competitiveness on the field. As I mentioned earlier in the article, he still seems to be in his 20’s when ever he gets on to the pitch and although he has aged a bit(only little) his enthusiasm for the game is still the same. Wenger clearly loves to have him around and having a player of his experience will also help the youngsters. Hopefully he will finish his career at the club.
