The transfer is fast approaching and so many teams will be looking forward into the transfer window to sign some players in order to strengthen their teams. Arsenal has suffered so many injury crisis this season in the likes of Sanchez out since late November, with Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Coquelin and Welbeck.
Carrigher (Liverpool Legend) was a great supported the North-London side to win the title but it seems Arsenal has let him down after.
In order not to repeat the unpleasant mistake made this season, Arsenal are considering making moves for Atletico Madrid Centre-back Lucas Hernanadez as well as Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwel this summer, according to reports. Arsene Wenger has come under intense criticism from the fans who have accused him of being economical in the transfer market.
The team has been unable to deliver at the highest level much to the frustration of the fans who desperately want a change at the club. The Gunners defence has been questioned severely this term after another unimpressive display in the Premier League and the failure to retain the FA Cup.
We have dropped points from winning position a couple of times this season and this among others eventually cost us the title. Just two wins in nine league games is not too encouraging. As a major restructuring looms in the summer in all the departments of the squad, Wenger is keen on bringing in one or two reliable defenders to strengthen the defence.
The reports from the Metro and the Mirror claimed the Frenchman is keeping tabs on Hernandez, 20, and Chilwell, 19, to reinforce the back. Per Metersacker has experienced a decline on form and younger defenders Gabriel Paulista and Calum Chambers have also not been impressive.
Hernandez broke into Atletico first team earlier this season and has shown a glimpse of what he is capable of. He has made 10 La Liga appearances this season and has been impressive on the pitch. He could serve as the ideal replacement for the ageing Metersacker and form a formidable partnership with Laurent Koscienly at the back.
Chilwell, who is also a target for Liverpool is another option Arsenal are looking at to bolster the defence. The young full-back has produced sparkling performances in his few appearances for the recently crowned Premier League champions. It remains to see if the Foxes will be ready to part with their prospect.
