‘They didn’t win for 10 years’, Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to make fun of Arsenal’s trophy drought

Arsene Wenger

The only thing worse than a Monday for an Arsenal fan is a Monday without post-match emotions, I have come to realize.

The Carling Cup final between Southampton and Manchester United was the reason for our match being postponed as we were scheduled to take on the Saints in the League.

Nevertheless, the consistency associated with our beloved Arsenal in terms of success-mediocrity remains a clear sign of concern and ineptitude.

“The Arrogant one” could not help but take a dig at the Gunners after being victorious in yesterday’s final.

Here are quotes from his interview after the game:

We are winning. After seven months I have two trophies with this club.

There are other clubs that didn’t win for 10 years. I’ve won what they won in 10 years, so I’m happy with that

Not sure if any name calling will be necessary but one can safely assume who the pun is directed at. As unruly as such a behavior is, there are two major undertones associated with this dig:

  1. Someone other than Arsenal and the Gunners’ faithful is keeping close tabs on the situation at the Emirates and I don’t mean in an indifferent manner.
  2. That said fella hasn’t gotten over his inability to officially dawn the colors of the club for a competitive game despite getting an opportunity for tryouts.

Considering the trophies he has amassed since that invitation on his adventures, The lure of a club like Arsenal seems to have a strong hold on his mind to a point of haunting.

Taking into account his abilities, one would have enjoyed having him at the club but destiny has spoken on that matter. My 2 cents is quite simple, move on bruv…

Our next game is against a revitalized Liverpool side away at Anfield this coming weekend.

Irrespective of the outcome, someone will be dropping below Manchester United in the event of a victory in their own game.

Needless to say, a win is very much required despite the odds. Will we rise up to the occasion or balk at the first sign of overwhelming resistance from the Reds remain to be seen.

Tony Adams has left me scratching my head with his thoughts on Tom Adams blog on Espn. Always wondered what “the rule of seven” meant, however, this piece will leave you educated and pondering as well.

Most thoughts will gravitate to Saturday’s game. P.S. ..whoever scouts for the Gunners in Italy should be fired…#Gabbiadini
