Arsenal move to agree deal for €45 million star, Forward interested in move

Lucas Moura

Reports emerging from Italy today have claimed Arsenal have approached PSG winger Lucas Moura’s representatives sounding out an intention to bring him to the Emirates sooner rather than later.

Tuttomercatoweb have published an “Exclusive” in which they claim Arsenal have already approached the 24 year old Brazilian over a potential move who has welcomed the enquiry. The report also mentions about PSG’s keeping close watch on Alexis’s contract situation and waiting to make their move for him.

The Parisian winger is reportedly open to the idea of shifting to the Emirates and is also a keen admired of Arsene Wenger which is why he may make a move to London.

Lucas has long been admired by Gunners boss Wenger, who has followed the progress of the midfielder since his time with Sao Paulo.

He was signed during the summer of 2012 in a €45 million deal and is into his fifth season for the Parisians where has he has so far scored 35 goals in 191 appearances.

In an interview with SporTV back in 2015 he described Premier League as his next possible destination if he was no longer enjoying life in Paris saying :

“It is clear that the Premier League is very strong,”

“If an opportunity comes later and I no longer have the desire to play here, I would take the decision and I would play for another club.

“I’m happy to generate interest from major European clubs, if the interest exists it shows that people trust me and would count on me.”

While he may be open to a new challenge of testing himself in the English League, whether PSG would be willing to discuss the sale of a player they payed £38 million is another matter.

The report also talks about PSG’s interest in Sanchez and Wenger should by all means rebuff any move if it were to be in form of a swap deal.

Though he is a player I very much like and appreciate and he did also cause us a lot of problems in the 2-2 draw with PSG in the Champions League group stage in November, i do not think he has yet lived up to the hefty prize paid by PSG for him.

A quick, diminutive, and mobile winger, who is also powerful, creative, and technically gifted, a return of 35 goals from 191 appearances shows he has clearly a lot to do more to become a World Class Brazilian forward that people expected him to be.

Certainly a lot more is expected from the player who is yet only 24 years of age and has the most productive years in front of him. While buying him will definitely prove to be a stellar deal I personally would prefer to see Alex Oxlade Chamberlain be given the next six months a more regular starting role on the wings instead of splashing the cash on another new player this season.
