Reports: Arsenal midfielder likely to be offered lucrative deal

Jack Wilshere

Arsenal are ready to offer Jack Wilshere a contract extension after at the European Championship in France next month, should he performs very well at the tournament, according to the telegraph.

The Englishman has two years left on his current contract and despite his incessant injury; the club want him to remain a part of the team into the near future.

Injuries kept him out for larger parts of last season and started only one Premier League game last season- the final day match against Aston Villa-, managing just 141 minutes of football all season.

He had been injured before the start of the last campaign and made his comeback in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City with impressive display.

On his day, Wilshere is an influential midfielder and his inclusion in the England squad for EURO 2016 is a testament of that despite missing many games last season.

The club’s academy product has caught the attention of Manchester City new boss Pep Guardiola, who has been his long-time admirer since he won the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2010/2011 season- and he is interested in signing him this summer.

The 24-year-old has only managed 66 Premier League games in the last five seasons and the Telegraph reported that Arsenal might offer him an extension on his current £90,000 per week contract per his performance at the EURO.

The player moved to Emirates Stadium from Luton Town aged nine and broke into the senior team in 2008 but was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers in January 2010 until the end of that season.

He made his competitive debut in the Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers in September 2008; aged 16 years and 256 days making him Arsenal youngest-ever league debutant, a record that was previously held by former captain Cesc Fàbregas.

Wilshere has been a great influence to the Gunners team; He has made over 100 appearances for the Gunners and scored 12 goals. He has won the FA Cup twice.

Despite the injury crisis the English super star his facing currently I personally think he deserve a new deal at the Emirate stadium.

The Mailonline’s Sami Mokbel reported that the Gunners are “preparing to open contract talks” following the upcoming European Championships in France, which it has been doubt whether jack Wilshere will feature in Roy Hodgson’s team as a result of injury that may the 26- year-old man to feature just in three appearance for the North – London side.
