Piers Morgan reveals why this Arsenal man deserves credit after Preston win

Arsenal fan and celebrity critic Piers Morgan has heaped praises on striker Olivier Giroud after his performance in the 2-1 win against Preston in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The North London club struggled throughout the first half as the Championship side dominated the proceedings at Deepdale and went into the lemon break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a Callum Robinson strike in the 10th minute.

However, the Gunners showed some fight in the second half and equalised just minutes after the re-start with Aaron Ramsey finding the back of the net and Olivier Giroud then scored the winning goal with one min remaining in the regular time.

The Frenchman has been struggling to get into the starting line-up virtue of some injuries and Sanchez’s red hot form, but the lanky striker is slowly returning to his best and might continue to start upfront when the Premier League resumes.

Morgan singled out the France international on his personal Twitter account for applause following his side’s victory.

The North London club have been scoring late goals this season quite often with Cazorla and Koscielny at the helm of nicking some points. However, there’s one other person doing the same on a different scale.

Giroud has developed a knack of scoring late goals this season. The Frenchman scored 4 times in the last 5 mins this season leading to either a win or draw; against Manchester United, West Brom, Bournemouth and now Preston. The stat is quite sensational considering that if we take out that goals, Arsenal are already out of the title race.

Apart from the late goal, Giroud was great throughout the second half as he was a focal point for the Gunners attack, excelling with his strong physical presence and bringing others into the game.

Hopefully, he can continue scoring.
