Not Ramsey, Arsenal set to lose another player on a free transfer

Welbeck and Lacazette

As far as Arsenal are concerned, they seem to have trouble in the recent past with the issue of contracts. Last season it was Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez and this season it seems to have started with Aaron Ramsey.

And if reports in Mirror are to be believed, there is another name that is set to be added to that in the form of Danny Welbeck.

The English striker is out of contract at the end of this season and it appears that he is willing to wait out his current deal and leave on a free at the end of it.

It is not ideal for a club to be in a situation like this and it is something that the Gunners would wish they had taken care of earlier.

If Welbeck does choose to leave the club, there will surely be a few clubs waiting in line to snap him up. After the new year, he will be able to negotiate with foreign clubs with regards to signing a pre-contract.

The striker’s time at the club has not been as successful as some would have thought but it has not been that bad as well. He has suffered through a lot of injury problems but he has shown that he can be a valuable member for the club whenever he is called upon.

In addition to that, there are very few players in the club who have the skill set that he possesses as his unique playing style does cause defenses a lot of problems.

Welbeck has started this season in fine form having notched up four goals in just seven games. And when you have a player in this kind of form, you will want to make sure that he stays at the club.

The only thing worse than losing the striker would be to lose him on a free. It is up to the Arsenal board to prevent this from happening and if they are smart about all this, they will not let it happen.
