French journalist reveals Alexis Sanchez was in Paris to negotiate PSG transfer

Alexis Sanchez appears to be heading towards an exit from Arsenal, after L’Equipe reporter Bertrand Latour claimed that the Chilean international was in Paris in order to hold talks with PSG.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Paris St Germain. The latter have just spent a world record €222 million on Neymar, and already possess the likes of Edinson Cavani and Angel di Maria on their ranks.

However, it appears that their hunger for attacking players is not slowing down, as Sanchez is PSG’s next target. According to Daily Star, Latour claimed:

“Alexis #Sanchez will spend the night in Paris. He is accompanied by his companion and his girlfriend to negotiate with PSG.

“Talks at this moment.”

There is a high probability of Sanchez leaving Arsenal before the end of this transfer window. He has not featured in the Community Shield or the season opener against Leicester City.

Sanchez only has 12 months left on his contract and is thought to be keen on playing in the Champions League – and not the Europa League.

Incidentally, Mesut Ozil also has 12 months left on his contract but the German international was seen in the 4-3 win over Leicester City.

Sanchez was signed from Barcelona for around £35 million, but it appears that he may fetch around £50 million even with his contract running out next year.

While the financial element makes a lot of sense, selling one of the key players may not be the way forward for Arsenal.

Sanchez was the best player at Arsenal last season as he came up with 24 goals and 10 assists in 38 league appearances.
