Done deal: Medical completed, 23-year-old agrees four-year contract with Arsenal

Kolasinac

Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac is understood to have undergone medical with Arsenal ahead of his proposed move to the Emirates in the summer, Goal.com reports.

The Kolasinac to Arsenal story has been taking its twists over the past couple of days with manager Arsene Wenger recently denying claims that the club are in contact with the Bosnian.

Despite this, Goal claim that the north London giants have won the race after having beaten the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Juventus to the full-back’s signature.

The report adds that the left-back has already had a series of medical tests with the Capital outfit, and a four-year deal will be announced once his contract expires at Schalke during the off-season.

Kolasinac, who initially begun his career at centre-back, has made the left-back position his own at the Veltins Arena – with the German club at times deploying him at left wing-back.

Initially, suggestions were that Kieran Gibbs could make way for the Bosnian footballer in the summer, but it now appears Nacho Monreal could be the one to bow out with Basque club Athletic Bilbao likely to lodge a third approach in successive seasons.

The former German youth international is regarded as one of the best up and rising prospects in European football and his arrival could add a good feeling to the squad in what could be a busy summer transfer window.

Kolasinac has provided three goals and five assists in the Bundesliga this term. He has also helped at the back with 11 cleansheets with an average of 2.7 tackles/interceptions per game.
