Matteo Guendouzi lands in London to complete Arsenal transfer deal, teases fans with hint

Most of the players that Arsenal have signed or are trying to sign will not come under the tag of ‘one for the future’.

The players are more experienced as the Gunners have made it clear as to what player they will be targeting. But despite this, the club is close to sealing a deal for Matteo Guendouzi from the French side Lorient.

Having missed out on Yacine Adli from Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal have shifted their focus to another promising French youngster. As per reports coming out of France, it appears that the Gunners and the French side have come to an agreement regarding the transfer.

Guendouzi himself has added further fuel to the fire due to his activity on social media. Through his Twitter profile, the teenager liked a post that had mentioned that the transfer was as good as done.

People were quick to spot this and now it seems more of a formality that he will be at the Emirates next season. Guendouzi has now confirmed on Instagram that he’s arrived in London and is expected to complete Arsenal move in a £7m deal.

The 19-year-old has represented France at the youth levels and he is considered to be one of the finest prospects of the country. Guendouzi has slowly but steadily made his way into the first team of Lorient as his number of appearances almost tripled last season.

Though it has to be said that the relationship between the youngster and the French club was far from peaceful. There seems to have been a falling out and this may have resulted in the move happening so quickly. Arsenal have already made three signings in this transfer window and with the impending arrival of Lucas Torreira and Guendouzi, that tally will reach a total of five.

The youngster is surely one who has been earmarked for the future as he is not expected to become a starter anytime soon. Arsenal have a tradition of getting the finest talents from France and the transfer of Guendouzi is a sign that the club is going down a familiar path.
