Jack Wilshere set for a new contract despite Injury

Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere’s career has been ravaged by injuries. Constant movement between the treatment table and the first team led to a significant drop in his performances. This led to the loan move to Bournemouth.

The England international has enjoyed a highly productive spell with Bournemouth, who have been a surprise package in the Premier league this season.

The team backed by Mansion Group, which is the corporation owning Casino.com, have been able to make significant impact in the top division despite not spending much in the transfer window. One of their best signings of the summer has been Wilshere.

The England international has returned to Arsenal after suffering a fibula crack. He is expected to miss several months of action due to this latest injury. Yet, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that this injury will not prevent the club from offering a new contract for the 24-year-old.

Wilshere is out of contract in the summer of 2018. Even though he is injury prone, there will be no shortage of interest in the player considering his prodigious talent. After having persuaded with the midfielder for such a long period, Arsenal are not ready to give up on him just yet.

The loan spell at Bournemouth has shown that Wilshere can be a highly capable player when he plays regularly. In his 29 appearances for Eddie Howe’s team, he has produced two assists.

Statistics, though, do not tell the whole story since he has been much more involved in the Bournemouth team, who have been comfortably able to avoid relegation despite being a newly promoted outfit.

Wilshere will not be out for long and is expected to be fit by the time the next Premier League campaign begins in August. The priority for Arsenal will be to get the player functioning at his best.

There is little possibility of the player making another loan move to Bournemouth, but Eddie Howe can be expected to make a bid for the player if he becomes available on a permanent basis. Wilshere is expected to cost around €20 million in the current market, although his transfer value will plummet if he rejects the offer of a new contract at Arsenal.
