Good news: Cazorla delivers positive injury update, he is coming back sooner than expected

Santi Cazorla

Arsenal have received a massive injury boost after Santi Cazorla revealed that he will be back to action in two months.

The North London club’s official website on Thursday confirmed that the Spanish midfielder will undergo a surgery to correct an Achilles problem that has kept him out of action over the last two months.

The report stated that once the procedure is complete it will take at least three months for midfielder to return to action. Thankfully for the fans the problem doesn’t seem to be as bad as initially thought.

The 31-year-old has predicted that he will return in eight weeks following a positive diagnosis with regards to identifying the problem.

Posting a video updated on his official social media handle, that the surgery will be quick and a 2-month time frame has been set for his return. He said:

I want to say that we found where the pain is coming from.

The doctor says to me it’s a quick surgery and I’ll be back in two months. So thank you very much for your support and see you soon.

So far the Gunners have managed to do just fine without his presence; winning three and drawing three of their league games, although they were knocked out of the EFL following a 2-0 defeat to Southampton.

The Gunners have to find a way to get over Cazorla’s excruciating absence. Wenger has indicated that the Emirates club have the necessary talent to overcome this gap in the starting XI but we haven’t seen it yet consistently.

What Cazorla brought to the team can’t be replicated by anyone else in that midfield other than perhaps Ramsey if he can be given the chance. I don’t doubt the depth of this midfield, for we do have a wealth of options.

With this positive update we can expect a mid-february return without any setbacks hopefully, which isn’t as bad as initially thought and if Arsenal can manage to stay afloat in the title race until then, they will have a their guns ready for the final run-in.
