Sam Greenwood posts picture officially confirming he has signed for Arsenal

Unai Emery

Arsenal are looking to sign some youngsters to complement the players that have already been brought in. The Gunners have already made three signings but now, they are looking at players that are a little younger and are meant for the future.

One such player happens to be Sam Greenwood from Sunderland who has confirmed that he has signed for Arsenal. He posted a pic on Instagram:

The youngster earlier posted a photo of the Arsenal Training Center indicating that he was going in for his medical.

Arsenal have done well to sign the youngster as there was some competition for his signature from Liverpool and Manchester United. This is an indication of the quality that Greenwood has and he is expected to become a key member of the Arsenal youth teams.

While it is good to have experienced players at the club, it is nice to see the club make a move for some promising players as well. After all, if you do not think about the future then it will be difficult for the Gunners to prosper at a later date.

News of the signing of Greenwood has been spoken about as per reports that have come earlier. He was impressive for Sunderland in the Under-18 Premier League last season. He was able to showcase his talents in terms of assists as well as scoring goals. Getting the player also shows that Arsenal are far from done when it comes to their transfer business and that is a good sign for the club and its fans.

For Greenwood to play for the first team will be difficult unless he is able to do something extraordinary. But, given how involved Unai Emery will be with the youth teams, perhaps he may get a chance.

Arsenal have a history of supporting young players and nurturing them into world class talents. Given the hype that Greenwood is arriving with, fans will be waiting to see the youngster do well. The future sounds exciting and if everything goes according to plan, the Englishman could have a part to play in it.
