Dembele makes huge statement to Barcelona amid Arsenal transfer links

Predicted Arsenal Line-up

It has become something of a source of amusement for Arsenal fans to see who will be linked with them during a transfer window.

Some names make sense while others are being included by the tabloids for no reason at all. Another name that has been linked with the Gunners a lot is the Frenchman Ousmane Dembele who despite the links, has returned to Barcelona to start training earlier than expected, according to reports in Metro.

A few days ago, he was spotted with a few Arsenal players and that obviously led to a lot of people speculating that he was inching closer to the Emirates.

But with this development, it seems that he will be staying put in Spain, at least for the time being. The social media activity of Dembele has made many believe that he was looking for a move away from Camp Nou.

That was intensified after the arrival of Malcolm who was brought by Barcelona from Bordeaux. He plays in the same position as Dembele so it appeared that his career as a Barca player was in danger.

Now, it looks like the Frenchman has taken the initiative to fight for his place rather than look for a move elsewhere. Even if he wanted to come and join the Gunners, the financial details of such a transaction would in all likelihood be a little too complex for the London club.

There is no doubt that he will be an amazing addition to the squad as he has some qualities that no other member of the Arsenal squad has. His electrifying pace and incredible close control are just one of many reasons as to why he is such a dangerous player.

Arsenal and manager Unai Emery have made it clear that they are always willing to bring in players so there is still a possibility that Dembele will come to the Emirates. Given that there is less than a week left in the transfer window, that remains at best a distant possibility.
