With the transfer window now shut, speculation surrounding players and potential future deals has begun to percolate all over the internet. The word on the internet right now is that PSG midfielder and long term Arsenal target Adrient Rabiot is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Hello all!

One minute we think that the transfer window is shut and out, and that all transfer news relating to football players and clubs will now only re-emerge in January, or perhaps next summer.

It has not been even a week since the window slammed shut, and speculation and news surrounding players, their contracts, their agents and clubs has already begun. Regardless, some such news can always be interesting.

The Mirror has recently reported that Paris St Germain midfielder Adrient Rabiot, who is a PSG  academy product, is keen on a move to the Premier League.  Rabiot, spent some time with the Manchester City youth team back in 2008, and is therefore not completely new to English football.

The report has quoted him saying the following:

“I really liked my time in England and the life there, even outside of football,”

“I told myself that I will return one day. I have always had the desire to play in England, it is in me. The Premier League – that is football.”

Arsenal have tried to lure the services of the young midfielder in the last two transfer windows but have failed.

At 6 ft 2 in, Rabiot is a quite a presence in the middle of the park. Strong on the ground and in the air, the young Frenchman has been typically been deployed a a defensive midfielder alongside a ball playing partner in midfield. He is also comfortable playing as a box to box midfielder, comfortable both offensively and defensively.

In this time that Arsenal have missed out on the French youth international, they have bought Mohammed Elneny, Granit Xhaka and recalled Francis Coquelin. It is unlikely that Wenger would really be thinking about transfers at the moment and definitely not about Rabiot considering the Gunners are well equipped in the middle of the park.
