Changes Arsenal need to end Premier League drought

Unlike last several seasons Arsenal couldn’t capitalize on good start and missed out on the elusive Premier League title once again.

The new season preparations and strategies would be on the minds of Arsene Wenger and he’ll be desperate to end the trophy drought. Current Arsenal squad along with likely additions would be potential to win the title if we get the tactics right from the beginning. But what exact tactical changes you would like to see?

Arsenal needs to sign a new center-forward to play alongside Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to challenge for major trophies. The new striker would obviously replace Olivier Giroud at the front allowing Sanchez and Ozil to play on the flanks either side. This would definitely offer Gunners better protection in the central areas.

Mohamed Elneny has been useful addition to the squad and he has suited well as a holding midfielder to screen the back-four. Alex Iwobi has been finding of the season for us and he’ll only going to get better with number of matches under his belt.

Francis Coquelin could be brought back into the side to provide another option in the defensive midfield region closing down the opposition.

Arsenal will also be sweating on the fitness of Santi Cazorla who provides much needed creativity in the midfield. His partnership with Ozil would prove crucial in getting the desired results.

It is no secret that Arsenal needs to find right partner for Koscielny at the central defence position. A world-class central defender at the backline is must need for Arsenal in transfer window to replace Per Mertesacker and Gabriel.

This would mean better protection for Petr Cech in goal, and would be the last thing we need to fix in current line-up.

Wenger has been criticized lately for playing Ozil as right-winger and he needs to be playing inside in possession rather than being isolated on the flank. With Coquelin putting pressure on sides higher up the pitch which will mean Arsenal control games in their opponent’s half, and Cazorla alongside him would make chief playmaker.

Elneny will intercept balls between the midfield and defense in his position and would fill in when a fullback is caught high up the pitch.

Solid back four would be the key for achieving results week-in, week-out and hence a world-class center back on par with Koscielny is something we need to address first.
