Arsenal have suffered partial injury crisis up front this season with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez who were all out of the team at some point due to injuries.
The Gunners fans have been asking for a striker for long and it has been no different since the past few weeks. It seems Arsene Wenger has finally heard the cry and is considering bringing in a new striker to cover for Welbeck’s injury.
There are conflicting reports that Arsenal could sanction the sale of Alex Oxlade-chamberlain to fund transfer the transfer of Southampton forward Sadio Mane.
Alex has struggled to hold down a place in the starting eleven and managed just nine Premier League starts last season, with injuries limiting his appearances and form.
Despite that, the Foxes boss Claudio Rianeri is interested in bringing the midfielder to the King Power Stadium, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The former Chelsea coach believes the 22-year-old would bring his experience in the Champions League to the club as they prepare for their maiden outings in the club elite competition next season.
The Englishman is currently sidelined, having picked a knee injury in February, which has also ruled him out of the European championship next month, but he is expected to return for pre-season.
His place in the Gunners squad next season is in doubt with Arsene Wenger’s decision to retain Theo Walcott and the return from injury of Santi Cazorla along with Jack Wilshere may push him down the pecking order the more as the aforementioned trio are all ahead of him.
The former Southampton man managed just two goals in 33 appearances last season. With the latest knee injury to Danny Welbeck which will keep him out for nine months, Arsenal are short of options upfront.
Wenger is planning to bolster the attack with the signing of Mane from the Saints to provide support for Olivier Giroud. Mane to Arsenal will be a very great move, and will be highly appreciated by the Gunners fans.
The French coach has also been on the trail of Juventus’s Alvaro Morata but it is not sure if he has shifted his attention to the Saints forward. Mane was impressive for his club last season, scoring 15 goals in all competition and assisting another nine.
The report in Sunday Mirror further claimed that the Gunners could lure the Senegalese to the Emirates Stadium with a bid of around £17 million.
It is also likely that Arsenal may swap Alex for Leicester’s N’Golo Kante who has been on our radar before the end of the season.
