Thomas Lemar drops cheeky Arsenal transfer hint

Lemar

Arsenal’s pursuit of Thomas Lemar has been well documented during this summer’s transfer window and the Frenchman appears to have given a hint after he was spotted posing for a photograph alongside a Gunners fan.

Lemar has been identified as the prime target to bolster the Gunners’ attack this summer, but Monaco have so far snubbed two bids worth £35m and £40m.

A third offer is likely to be made in the coming days, and Lemar could be giving the green light towards the move following his recent snap with an Arsenal supporter, who was seen kissing the badge.

The photo was taken in Saillon, Switzerland, where Lemar and his teammates are taking part in their pre-season training ahead of their defence of the French Ligue 1 title.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had recently cited that the Gunners would remain ‘active’ in the transfer market, and this could encourage the prospects of Lemar arriving at the club after he was comfortable posing with the Gunners fan, who asked him whether he would be Emirates-bound.

The FA Cup holders broke their transfer record earlier this summer with the £52m signing of striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, and there is every possibility that the club could break this feat twice in the transfer window with £80m-rated Lemar angling towards a move to north London.

The Principality outfit are playing hardball over the player’s valuation after having sold the likes of Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko while Benjamin Mendy is also on the cusp of sealing a switch away from the Stade Louis II.

Lemar bagged 14 goals and 14 assists for AS Monaco last season as they clinched their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years whilst also reaching the final four of the Champions League.
