Granit Xhaka may have accidentally confirmed imminent transfer of £52m duo

Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka may have slipped up on social media revealing two Arsenal transfers are done deals.

An Arsenal fan commented on the Swiss international’s post saying “Sokratis and Soyuncu is done” and Granit Xhaka ‘liked’ the comment, potentially confirming the deals are done.

This comes after Caglar Soyuncu discussed his move to Arsenal in a revealing interview with Ajansspor, saying:

“It must be a team where I can play first… We will evaluate my chances of playing.” the 21-year-old center back also added “The English league is a very good league” and also “Of course I have a goal to play in top clubs.”

The young center back currently plays for Freiburg and the Turkish national team and is believed to be one of Europe’s hottest defensive prospects.

With this it seems very likely that Granit Xhaka may have been confirming the rumours surrounding Soyuncu are true.

As for Sokratis, the Greek defender is yet to sign for Arsenal, but it is heavily believed that the Dortmund player has agreed a deal with the North London side, worth £17m.

Making 198 appearances for Dortmund, the center back would be a massive signing for the Gunners and may be showing a complete defensive overhaul for Arsenal this summer.

Laurent Koscielny has been ruled out until at least November/December with his achilles injury. As well as this, the retiring of Per Mertesacker and the uncertainty surrounding Hector Bellerin may leave Arsenal needing some new defenders in the coming season.

Due to this, this rumour abut Sokratis and Soyuncu is exactly what Arsenal fans want to hear.

With the pursuit of a new manager still taking place with Mikel Arteta still being the favourite, it is still unknown how the appointment of a new manager will affect the ongoing transfer talks and whether the current lack of manager is affecting the club’s chances of signing top-quality players.
