Arsenal linked with £20million playmaker, not Mkhitaryan

Moussa Sissoko

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with so many players and it seems Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been added to that list, according to Express.

Sissoko’s dazzling footwork has drawn the attention of several elite clubs in Europe with the likes Chelsea and Liverpool are also said to be interested in him.

Reports from Express has it that Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in the Frenchman’s service, who has formally been linked with a move to North London and has recently talked up his move earlier this month.

Bleacher Report claims that the Magpies manager Rafa Benitez will sit down with the Frenchman to see if he can convince him to stay but if that fails, Newcastle will hold out for £20 million at least for 26-year-old ace.

The French ace is desperate to play UEFA Champions League football and has never hid his feelings to playing top club. However, as per Chris Waugh of the Chronicle, he might find it difficult to purchase a move:

Sissoko has the quality of playing champions league football, but his performances last season with Newcastle were not up to the mark, top clubs might be less enthusiastic to invest in his services than they were years ago.

Francis Coquelin and signing of Granit Xhaka will deliver some muscle work to the team, which was Wenger’s concern, so the move of Sissoko might now look unnecessary.

Tom Davidson of the Daily Post Wales doesn’t think he has what it takes to make it at the Emirates:

Depth has been an issue for the North London outfit in recent years, however, Wenger could decide to invest in another proven Premier League performer. Despite not being at his best term they is still room for the Frenchman to improve, as he is still just 26 years of age.

The 26-year-old ace will probably leave Newcastle this summer, but it’s hard to imagine Arsenal paying £20 million or more to bring him to north London.

Wenger is known to a manager who believes in French players, So do you think he will sign Sissoko or move for someone else?
