Arsenal identify two alternative winger choices to Ryan Fraser to bolster the attack

Arsenal are understood to have earmarked potential alternatives to Ryan Fraser, should they fail to lure the attacker from Bournemouth during the summer transfer window.

The north London side are said to be keen on bolstering the wide attacking department in the summer and they are known to be keeping a close watch on the proceedings of Fraser.

However, according to Football.London, the Gunners are understood to have contingency plans in place with Genk’s Leandro Trossard and Boca Juniors’ Cristian Pavon highlighted as other potential transfer candidates.

Still, the transfer business could be highly dependent on the European status for next season, and the return to the Champions League could significantly boost the budget for the forthcoming transfer window.

Unai Emery’s have done tremendously well to keep up with the top four since the turn of the year and much of this, has resulted from the form of the front men with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette coming up with strong displays.

Other than that, there has not been much creativity coming from the sides with Alex Iwobi, who is probably the natural winger in the club’s ranks, often frustrating when it comes to delivering the final ball into the box.

As such, it makes sense to pursue another quality winger in the summer and Fraser seems a good choice, given he has sufficient league experience while he has stood out in the Cherries ranks through the league campaign.

The Scotland international has managed a goal or an assist for Eddie Howe’s side in every other league game this term, and he should prove a good upgrade on Iwobi on the left side of the attack, if the Gunners are able to pursue him.

On the contrary, Trossard and Pavon have similarly impressed in their respective leagues – with the latter being a long-term target for the Gunners, but there remains the question mark whether they can instantly adapt to the demands of English football.

Arsenal are currently fourth in the league standings with a game in hand. They can leapfrog cross-town rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the third spot this weekend, should they secure a positive result against Everton on the road.
